Summary
Miruzen can be used freely without an account. Signing up is optional and only unlocks community features (your list, ratings and profile). We do not sell personal data and collect the bare minimum needed to operate. This page explains exactly what is processed and why.
1. Data we process
- Language preference — a functional cookie (
NEXT_LOCALE) remembers whether you prefer English or Spanish. It identifies no one and you can delete it from your browser. - User account (optional) — if you choose to sign up, we process your email address (to authenticate you and send account emails, such as confirmation or password recovery), the username and avatar you pick and, optionally, a bio. We also store the activity you create: your anime list, watch statuses, ratings and favorites. You can sign up with email and password or with your Google account; if you use Google, we receive your email and the basic profile data you approve on its consent screen. This data is stored in our authentication and database infrastructure (Supabase) and protected with a session cookie.
- Technical server logs — like any website, our hosting infrastructure temporarily logs technical request data (IP address, browser type, requested pages) for operations and security.
- Aggregate analytics — if we enable traffic analytics it will be aggregate and not aimed at identifying individuals; this policy will be updated to reflect the specific tool.
If you browse without an account, we ask for no identifying personal data beyond the technical logs, and we process no special categories of data.
2. Third-party content
Covers and banners load directly from their source servers (AniList's and MyAnimeList's CDNs). When those images load, your browser sends them your IP address, as with any external resource. Their privacy policies apply to that processing.
3. Advertising
Miruzen currently shows no ads and uses no advertising cookies. If advertising is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated beforehand, detailing the providers and applicable consent options.
4. Retention
Technical logs are kept for the minimum period set by the hosting infrastructure and then deleted or anonymized. The language cookie stays in your browser until you remove it.
5. Your rights
If you have an account, you can edit your profile or delete your account at any time from Settings; deleting it permanently erases your profile, list, ratings and favorites. You may also request information about, or object to, the processing of your data by writing to [email protected]. We will respond as soon as possible.
6. Changes
Any changes to this policy will be published here, updating the date at the top of the page.
